get together gather ……, family reunion
in china, mid-autumn day is considered to be a symbol of family reunion. on this day, all the family members gather together at home to celebrate this special occasion. last year, i could not celebrate the festival with my family because i was in university. however, this special day left a deep impression on me.
i still remember the atmosphere of that evening. all the students who could not go back home assembled in our classroom, having a party to celebrate this traditional festival. we tried our best to show our own enthusiasm. as an ethnic minority, i performed a peacock dance, which received warm applause. after the two-hour party, we went out to the playground and sat together to appreciate the moon because it is a tradition on mid-autumn day. we ate moon cakes, played cards, and listened to romantic poems recited by one of our classmates. in that harmonious atmosphere, nobody felt lonely or homesick even though we were far away from our homes
thanks to our classmates, i experienced such a colorful and interesting mid-autumn day at my university. thus, i learned to value all the festivals i spent during my university life.

That is the Mid-Autumn Day in my mind. I will always re-member: East or West, home is best.
Secondly, I"11 say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day. Look! There"s a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly. All the family members are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air. They are eating the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky. That is a family reunion dinner. The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family. I think this is one of the most valuable things in the world.
Firstly, I"d like to say something about the moon. I like it very much because I want to be an astronaut in the future. That day the moon is round, big, just like a beautiful plate hanging on the blue cloth. When I see the moon, I will remember the ancient myths——the godess Chang Er and her little rabbit are playing under the tree which Wu Gang grows. I will also think about Armstrong"s first moonwalk. I will also miss the friends in Tai-wan island, in Macao and Chinese people who are abroad. I know they are missing us very much, too.

You see it is called"Mid-Autumn Day"daring,so it often comes in September or October. It is on the 15th of the 8th of the lunar month. Now, let"s say something about this interesting festival.
Thirdly,it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn Day. My wishes are: the first, I, an astronaut in the future, would like to go to the moon one day, and stay with the sky and stars; the second, I hope every person in the world will stay with family, share love from the family forever; the third, I hope everybody"s dream will come true.

According to the lunar calendar(农历), the seventh, eighth, and ninth months constitute the autumn season.
Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, precisely in the middle of this season, when the heat of the summer has given way to cool autumn weather, marked by blue skies and gentle breezes.
On this day the moon is at its greatest distance from the earth; at no other time is it so luminous.
Then, as the Chinese say, “The moon is perfectly round.” In the villages the heavy work involved in the summer harvest has already been completed but the autumn harvest has not yet arrived.
The actual origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival are still very unclear.
The earliest records are from the time of the great Han dynasty emperor Wu Di (156-87 B.
C.), who initiated celebrations lasting three days, including banquets and “Viewing the Moon” evenings on the Toad Terrace.
We know that people during the Jin dynasty (265-420 A.
D.) continued the custom of Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, and similar accounts have come down to us from the time of the Tang dynasty.
During the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) houses and gardens were decorated with numerous lanterns and the sound of gongs and drums filled the air.
Moon cakes came on sale shortly before festival time.
In the past, one could get some cakes shaped like pagodas, others like a horse and rider, fish or animals.
Still others were decorated with the images of rabbits, flowers, or goddesses.
There were a myriad of different fillings available: sugar, melon seeds, almonds, orange peel, sweetened cassia blossom, or bits of ham and preserved beef.
The cakes are of the northern and southern styles, but the latter (also called Guangdong-style) are the most popular and are available throughout the country.
The round shape of cakes just symbolizes not only the moon but also the unity of the family.
Therefore the Mid-Autumn Festival is actually a day for family reunion.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the two most important holidays in the Chinese calendar (the other being the Chinese Lunar New Year), and is a legal holiday in several countries. Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date. Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together. It is also common to have barbecues outside under the moon, and to put pomelo rinds on one"s head. Brightly lit lanterns are often carried around by children. Together with the celebration, there appear some special customs in different parts of the country, such as burning incense, planting Mid-Autumn trees, lighting lanterns on towers, and fire dragon dances. Shops selling mooncakes, before the festival, often display pictures of Chang"e, floating to the moon.
Mooncake is often eaten during the festival.Typical mooncakes are round or rectangular pastries, measuring about 10 cm in diameter and 4-5 cm thick. A thick pasty filling is surrounded by a relatively thin (2-3 mm) crust and may contain yolks from salted duck eggs. Mooncakes are rich, heavy, and dense compared with most Western cakes and pastries. They are usually eaten in small wedges accompanied by Chinese tea.

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China. Everybody likes it because its a family get-together. You see it is called"Mid-Autumn Day", so it often es in September or October. It is on the 15th of the 8th of the lunar month. Now, lets say something about this interesting festival.
Firstly, Id like to say something about the moon. I will also think about Armstrongs first moonwalk. I will also miss the friends in Tai-wan island, in Macao and Chinese people who are abroad. I know they are missing us very much, too.
Secondly, I11 say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day. Look!Theres a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly. All the family members are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air. They are eating the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky. That is a family reunion dinner. The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family. I think this is one of the most valuable things in the world.
Thirdly,it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn Day. My wishes are: the first, I, an astronaut in the future, would like to go to the moon one day, and stay with the sky and stars; the second, I hope every person in the world will stay with family, share love from the family forever; the third, I hope everybodys dream will e true.
That is the Mid-Autumn Day in my mind. I will always re-member: East or West, home is best.

Yesterday was the Mid Autumn Festival. After dinner, my father and mother and I sat happily on the balcony, eating moon cakes, persimmons and enjoying the moon.
A golden full moon has been hanging high in the sky, sprinkling bright moonlight on the ground, as gentle as a veil. The clouds in the sky are very light, the wind is very light, and the moonlight is very beautiful, which constitutes a beautiful picture. In the dark blue night sky, the moon looks rounder, brighter and more beautiful. Can such a beautiful moon not make people move? This full moon is very naughty. For a while, she gets into sister Yun"s arms, talks with stars, sings and dances?? I can"t help it. Then Dad said, "in fact, the moon doesn"t shine. It"s like a mirror, reflecting the light of the sun to the earth, so the light is not hot."
Soon, a shadow appeared next to the moon. Dad said, "the black shadow is the "sea" on the moon, but there is no water in it."
Ah! The bright moon aroused my reverie. "Ah! I know that Chang"e must have regretted it at this time. It really corresponds to the ancient poem "Chang"e should regret stealing miraculous medicine, and the blue sea is blue at night." ah! She secretly looked at Hou Yi. Hou Yi looked at the moon cakes and fruits given to Chang"e on the earth and silently missed Chang"e. besides, Wu Gang was constantly chopping more than 500 Zhang high osmanthus trees, chopping them and growing them... The jade rabbit pounded them wholeheartedly Medicine... "
The Mid Autumn Festival is really happy. Not only the moon is round, but also people get together with their relatives. The moon on the Mid Autumn Festival is incredible!
